    In the name of God Amen the Thirtyeth day of September in the yeare of our Lord God one Thousand six hundred Eighty Seven I Simon Coe of Retherfield in the County of Sussex yeoman being in health and perfect memory (praised be God therefore) doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following Imprimis I doe give and bequeath my Soule into the hands of God my Creatour hopeing of the full and free pardon of all my sinnes by the death and merritts of my Saviour Jesus Christ And my body to be buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named And for my worldly goods and estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bestowe upon me I give bequeath devise and dispose thereof in manner and forme following First I give and bequeath unto Mary my loveing wife the summe of One hundred poundes of good and lawfull money of England to be paid unto her by my Executor hereafter named within one yeare next after my decease And also I doe give and bequeath unto Mary my said wife All my lynnen whatsoever And the bedstead the bed and all the furniture belonging unto it being in the Chamber over the Milkehouse and the Chest wherein the lynnen useth to lye in and all the pewter marked with M and C and alsoe all the hives of Bees And one brasse pan with broade brimes and one great bell brasse skillet and one great Bible and the lynnen wheeles Item I doe give and bequeath unto Avice Weston widdow my daughter the summe of Five poundes of good and lawfull money of England to be paid unto her by myne Executor hereafter named within one yeare next after my decease Item I doe give unto John Weston my grandchilde the summe of Tenn poundes of good and lawfull money of England to be paid unto him by myne Executor hereafter named within one yeare next after my decease Item I doe give and bequeath unto Avice Weston my grandchilde the summe of Five poundes of good and lawfull money of England to be paid unto her by myne Executor hereafter named within one yeare next after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto Mary Weston my grandchilde the summe of Five poundes of good and lawfull money of England to be paid unto her by myne Executor hereafter named within one yeare next after my decease Item I doe give and bequeath unto Simon Weston my grandchilde my house Messuage or Tenement wherein I now live And alsoe certaine other lands or Tenements lately bought of Marchant together with Barnes buildings outhouses gardens Orchards Closes and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining And alsoe my Lands Meadowes pastures Coppices and woodground whatsoever lying and being in the parrish of Retherfield in the County of Sussex To have and to hold unto him the said Simon Weston and to his heirs for ever with all the appurtenances rights benefitts and Commodities thereunto belonging and alsoe one other house Messuage or Tenement called or knowne by the name of Durage I give unto Simon Weston his heires for ever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining And I doe further give and bequeath unto the said Simon Weston my grandchilde all the rest of my goods Chattells moveables Cattell debts moneys whatsoever And I doe by this my last will and Testament make and ordayne the said Simon Weston my grandchilde my sole Executor thereof Item I give unto the poore of the parish of Retherfield the summe of Fourty shillings to be distributed unto them by Simon Weston my Executor within one yeare next after my decease Item I do give and bequeath unto Edmund Knell all my wearing Apparell woollen and lynnen And I do make Constitute nominate and ordeyne James Fry and John Stevens to be the overseers of this my last Will and Testament desireing them to be ayding and assisting to my Executor as need shall require and for their paines and care herein to be taken I doe give unto either of them the summe of six shillings and eight pence a piece In Wittnes whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament conteyned and written in Two sheets of paper sett my hand and Seale the day and yeare first above written The marke of Simon Coe Sealed published and acknowledged to be the last will and Testament of the before named Simon Coe and all former wills Renounced in the presence of us James Fry the marke of John Stevenes the marke of John Bruckes
