This is the last Will and Testament of me John Bean of Blatchington in the County of Sussex Yeoman First I direct that my Debts and Funeral and Testamentary Expenses shall be paid by my Executors out of my Personal Estate And after Payment thereof I direct my Executors to stand possessed of my Personal Estate Upon Trust to pay unto or permit and suffer my dear Wife Mary Bean and her Assigns to receive and retain to her and their own Use the Interest and annual Produce of my said Personal Estate for her natural Life And after her Decease I do hereby give unto my Nephew William Towner of Seaford in the said County and his Executors and Administrators absolutely all my said Personal Estate Subject nevertheless to the Payment of the several Legacies hereinafter mentioned And after the Decease of my said Wife I direct the said William Towner or his Executors to pay and apply the Sum of fifty Pounds Sterling in such Manner for the Benefit of my Sister Ann the Wife of Thomas Bateman independently of her Husband as she my said sister shall by any writing under her hand direct and I declare that the receipt of my said sister above notwithstanding her coverture shall be a sufficient discharge to the said William Towner or his Executors or Administrators for the said Sum of fifty Pounds And in case of the death of my said Sister in the lifetime of my said Wife I give the said sum of fifty Pounds unto and equally between all her Children who shall be living at the death of my said Wife Also I give (after the death of my said Wife) to my Nephew John Bean fifty Pounds to my Nephew Robert Bean fifty Pounds to my Cousin Henry Bean of Hawkhurst nineteen Guineas to my Nephew John Towner nineteen Guineas to my Great Nephew William Towner the Younger Son of the said William Towner nineteen Guineas to my Niece Mary Relfe of Tonbridge Wells Nineteen Guineas to my niece Ann Stanford of Tonbridge Wells Nineteen Guineas to my wifes niece Mary Pearce now living with me two hundred Pounds and to John Pearce the Brother of the said Mary Pearce ten Pounds Also I give (after the death of my said Wife) to my Nephew Thomas Bean fifty Pounds and to my Nephew Thomas Towner fifty Pounds And in case either of them the said Thomas Bean and Thomas Towner shall die in the lifetime of my said Wife and leave lawful Issue then I give the Legacy or Legacies of him or them so dying unto the Issue of his or their Body or respective Bodies equally to be divided between them if more than one And I direct that all the before mentioned Legacies shall be paid by the said William Towner or his Executors or Administrators within six Months next after the Death of my said Wife And I constitute and appoint my said Wife and the said William Towner joint Executors of this my Will In Testimony whereof I the said John Bean the Testator Have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the fourteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve John Bean[signed] Signed sealed published and declared by the said John Bean the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the Presence of us who in his Presence have hereunto Subscribed our names as Witnesses
