• Anecdote*: The administration of Joane's estate in 1626 would appear to be given to John the younger (although we cannot be certain), as she refers to John being a yeoman of Brighthelmstone. John the elder would likely have stayed at Henfield on the lands he inherited in 1619 in his father's will (such as the properties at Chestham).
