widdowe in good health & remembrannce thanks be to god doe ppare ordeyne & make ready this my present last will & testamt in mann & forme following that is to say ffirst I comend my soule to Allmightie god and my body to be buryed in the churchyard of Hellingleigh aforesaid as nere to my husband Shepard as convenyently may be Item I give to the poore people of the said pish of hereafter named shall have in his own custody & ymploymt & to his owne prop use benefitt & comoditye ffowrescore poundes of ready mony untill such tyme as fower children of his body lawfully to be begotten shall first attaine to the ages of twenty & two yeres and as his said children shall severally attaine to their said ages of xxii yeres then I will to each of them twenty pounds a pece of the said fower score pounds That is to saie to that of his children wch shall first attaine to thage of xxii yeres twenty pounds to that other of his said children wch shall next attaine to the like age twenty pounds to the third of his said children wch shall thirdly attaine to the like age twenty pounds and to that fowrth of his said children wch shall fowrthly attaine to the like age twenty pounds And least my said sonne should wastefully & ymprovidently spend & consume the said fower score pounds wherby his children might be frustrate of the benefitt of my will & good meaning towards them before declared I will that he my said sonne Harbert together wth two sufficient suertyes such as my said sonne John Akeherst shall accept of before he doe receave the said some of fowrescore pounds of my said overseers // shall enter into band of one hundred & twenty pounds to my said sonne John Akeherst his executors or assignes for the true pformance of the sume my will & true paymt of the said fower score pounds to his said children in manr & forme aforesaid and if the said Harbert my sonne before the end of three months next ensuing after my decease cannot procure sufficient security or doe refuse to doe then my will is that my said sonne John Akeherst his executors or assignes shall the custody & ymploymt of the said sume of fower score pounds so as before he or they doe execute the said sume of my overseers he the said John his executors or assignes wth two sufficient suertyes such as my overseers shall accept of doe enter into band of one hundred & twenty pounds to my said sonne Harbert aswell for the true paymt of the said fowrescore pounds to fower of the children of the said Harbert at their sevall ages in such manr & forme as is before menconed & declared by my said sonne Harbert to be done as also yerely from the tyme of receipt of the said fowrescore pounds by him the said John to paie unto my said sonne Harbert after the rate of five pounds proffitt for the said fowrescore pounds yerely untill the said fower of the said Harbert shall attayne to their sevall ages and shall have their said sevall porcons of twenty pounds a pece paid unto them yf the said that my said sonne Harbert by the delivery of my said overseers shall have in his owne custody possession & ymploymt & to his owne use & benefitt during his life & after his decease to the use of his receipt thereof doe enter into sufficient band to my said sonne John Akeherst for the safe custody & delivy of the said pcelle of moveables & houshold stuff unto his said fower children after his decease betwene them equally to be devyded as is aforesaid and for the better execucon of this my will in that behalf I doe ordeyne Richard Ellys of Hastings yoman John Read of Ringmer in the couny [sic] of Sussex yoman and William Read of Lewis in the said county glover to be my overseers of this my last will & testamt and doe likewise constitute name & appoint them the said Richard John & William to be my executors of trust of this my present last will untill such tyme as the said Harbert have entred into such bands as before I have lymitted & willed for true pformance of my said will on his pte & behalfe & then ymediately I will that he the said Harbert shalbe my sole executor thensforth forever & yf he cannot procure or doe refuse to enter into such bands as aforesaid then my said overseers shall remayne my executors of trust as is aforesaid // untill the said John Akeherst my sonne shall have entred into such band as I have before declared for true paymt of the said
