"WHEREAS on the 12th of Jan. 1772, HENRY PRIMMER, a tall thin Lad, about 18 Years of afe, somewhat lame in his ancles, pitted with the Small-Pox, went away from his Mother, ANN PRIMMER, of Botley, in the County of Hants, since that Time the said Ann Primmer has not heard of him: This is to desire him the said Henry Primmer, if living, to return to his said Mother, where he will hear of something to his Advantage, by two Tenements at Twyford, which the Lord of the said Manor will take to himself, if he the said Henry Primmer does not soon apply for them."4
- Anecdote*: In the court book of the manor of Twyford and Marwell, 1773: Henry Primmer an infant son of Thomas Primmer by Ann his wife and grandson of and heir to Henry Primmer by Barbara his wife (by Richard Wooll and William Collins now admitted to be his guardians). For a cottage with a garden and a butcher’s shop which came to him upon the death of the said Barbara Primmer to hold to the said Henry Primmer, the grandson, his heirs and assigns forever.
Note that Henry, the infant son, was not mentioned in his grandfather's will, but rather his father: "To son Thomas copyhold in the parish of Bishopstoke". This court book entry above probably refers to this property but needs to be checked.5
